TIC TAC TOE. Tape to Tape.
Caps 4, Habs 5
Who knew that a song about heroin withdrawal could have such versatile lyrics?
Last night's game was one that really could have gone either way. Both clubs made terrible choices in their own zone. Both clubs took lazy, stupid penalties. Neither club played to its potential.
Clark and Nylander were especially terrible. Even while posting two points on the night, Nylander makes one want to kill something beautiful.
Johnson was fantastic for the first two periods of play, adding to his HR with a diving glove save. He also let in the softest GWG on the season with less than thirty seconds of play. He was lights out in the first two frames, though. We must give him that.
It kills me to say this, but Semin reminds me so much of Jagr at times -- a massively talented forward that can both take shifts off and control the entire game. Does anyone remember what Semin said after his first home game?
"Yeah, I scored three goals, but I really could have had more."
I know that we're talking about a guy who's averaged 1.44 P/G this season and who's increased his consistency by miles. Believe me, I know. I don't like comparing anyone to El Diablo, but the evidence is definitely there at times.
